That's PC as in "Personal Computer", not "Politically Correct". :-)

Eventually, I plan to post some "how-to" guides on do-it-yourself system upgrades and such. Until then, here are some links to useful PC-related sites from all around the Web, for people interested in the nuts 'n' bolts of the technology inside that beige box sitting on (or under) your desk.

The Tech Report -- http://www.tech-report.com. Great site for PC industry news and reviews. (Includes on-line discussion forums.)
Ars Technica -- http://www.arstechnica.com. Great "PC enthusiast" site, with an attitude. Product reviews, "how-to" guides, technical articles, and daily links to breaking news of interest to anyone who's into cutting edge PC systems and software. (Includes on-line discussion forums.)
AMD Zone -- http://www.amdzone.com. Hardware news site, heavily slanted towards news related to CPU chips available from AMD. (Includes on-line discussion forums.)
The Inquirer -- http://www.theinquirer.net. British hardware "news and rumors" web site. Often gets the scoop on breaking tech news days (or weeks) before the more mainstream sites.
Ace's Hardware -- http://www.aceshardware.com . Great site for in-depth technical information, with a very active message board.

What I'm Running

At the present time, my computing environment consists of an Athlon XP 1800+ running Windows 2000 Professional, an Athlon 1.1GHz running Redhat Linux 8.0, an Athlon 800Mhz running Redhat Linux 8.0, and a K6-III+ 500MHz running Windows 2000 Professional. All machines are networked, and share an IDSL (DSL over ISDN) connection to the Internet. I'm in the process of setting up another K6-III+ system as a web server, which will be publicly accessible over my IDSL connection; it will host additional pages which are impractical to host at my ISP, due to disk space and other reasons.
