Aki's AM255

"The time I got my AM, I was not at all into Ibanezes, I had never tried an old
one. I found this somehow very attractive semi-hollow guitar in a pretty small
music store in Helsinki, Finland, two years ago I think. The frets were spoiled
by a "luthier-wannabe", who had leveled the frets flat with a file. Yes, he
obviously had filed or sandpapered the whole fret side of the neck (without the
strings, I hope ;o) for a while to get grooves out from the frets. Every fret
had two sharp edges that hurt my fingers when I played it at first. Also, the
tuss rod was very, very loose, I was a bit afraid that I couldn't straighten
it. And the bridge pickup was replaced by a cheapie Jackson J-50B, which
actually did not even fit the cover properly! The J-50B had a severe layer of
glue, but the glue hadn't even reached the bottom of the cover. I found a
unused Super70 at the local Ibanez dealer, and got it for a bit under 30$!

The electronics in my guitars always get a special attention. Currently it has
master vol, master tone, neck pu vol, and a series-parallel sw for the neck pu.
The neck pickup creates a great variation of useful sounds when in parellel."
