Little Gram's Banana Nut Bread

1 Cup sugar
½  Cup vegetable shortening
1 Cup bananas
2 eggs
2 Cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
½  tsp salt
¾  Cup nuts

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and bananas; mix.

Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Add nuts. Mix well.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.

NOTES: The older/riper/blacker the bananas the better. Little Gram's nut of choice is walnut.
