Car #186, "The Green Dragon".

186
Car 186 was built by the St. Louis Car Company for the Dallas Railway and Terminal Company in 1913. She is one of only two running 10 window Stone & Webster "turtleback" type cars left in the world. In 1956, when Dallas stopped running streetcars, 186 was sold to a farmer. He used it to store bales of hay. In 1979, It was bought by Ed and Kate Landrum, who cosmetically restored it for display at a sports museum in Arlington, Texas. When the museum closed down, Ed donated the car to MATA, with the provision that it be painted in its original green and white colors. In the summer of 1989 it was given new electrical equipment from Melbourne Australia cars, and seats from a Brill car. 186 is now one of the real workhorses of our fleet, constantly in demand for children's birthday charters and regular service duties. In 1994 alone, she carried 40,000 passengers. Car #186 is sponsored by Columbus Realty Trust, owners of the Meridian at State-Thomas and the Worthington of State-Thomas.
In the photo, Mike Goss and his son Andrew have just ridden the Green Dragon in the summer of 1989, and are waiting for Mike's brother to finish taking pictures. The scene is at One McKinney Plaza.
