SELDOMLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who Are You?
You can probably guess the broad outline from the above buttons.
I'm a science fiction fan with a preference for the classic style of hard SF -- some of the authors I like (off the top of my head) are Poul Anderson, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Hal Clement, Robert A. Heinlein, James P. Hogan, Spider Robinson, etc. In media SF, I got hooked on Babylon 5 after missing the first season and a half (I was underwhelmed by the pilot movie, but eventually picked up word of mouth and gave it another chance).
My politics are generally libertarian. I'm undecided about just how much government, if any, is worth keeping -- IMO, we should get rid of about three-quarters of it and pick through the other quarter for useful bits at leisure.

What Do You Want?
I want to get to a good con or other social occasion for my kind of folks every month or two. Can your associates arrange that?
