FURSUIT - The Furry Costume Information Exchange

Hi Folks!

Let me start out with an apology. Since Summer of 1998, I have been unable to reliably reply to my email. My deepest apologies to those who sent me requests to join fursuit and received no reply or terribly late or incomplete replies. My life no longer permits me the time to administer this list on a day to day basis. Family has to come first.

Luckily for all of us, a hero has stepped forward to take over the work where I cannot. Three cheers for YAPPYFOX!

I'm still around to help and advise where possible. YappyFox is handling all the admin stuff, but I can help with policy and general tutorials.

Here's my tiny claim to fame: I'm fairly sure I was the person who coined the word "fursuit" as it is used today to refer to a furry costume. Originally I created the name to refer to the fursuit-list mailing list (a pun on the word "pursuit"), but it just naturally became a stand alone noun. I started the list back in 1993 and there is no previous usage I can find...
