In The Beginning

by Raymond Wolf

"Our story begins with Source and the immaculate conception of those first two born of God. In their splendor and glory they came forth from that indescribable one. They have been called the right and left hand of God. We wish only to give you an inkling of the immensity of creation and who Source and the Trinity are by whatever names you are comfortable or familiar with. No name begins to encompass the totality of any of these beings. There is mystery, divine mystery, mysteries which none know the answers to. There are levels of vastness and power so great and of such antiquity that none can be present in the face of God. So our story begins with creation as you perceive it, that which gives rise to the grand universes, your galaxy, and your home. Of course there is much that isn't being said, only the very beginnings as we know and understand in word symbols." From my soul.

There are common themes to the following selections. One is that God is without beginning. He is causeless. He is the only I Am. He is self created and the source of all. He knows no other like Itself. God is Absolute in power, love, and intelligence.

There was a creative dilemma in which God had to find the means to give birth to all that resided within His being. You might call this the thought of God. When I imagine the creative dilemma, I imagine an emptiness. There is no light, no starry heavens, not even space. No sound of the breathing of my body, no senses to perceive with, and nothing to perceive. As God stirred, God perceived within His being the potential infinity of all creation, of infinite life, but it was only felt, like a lucid dream. Then God in His desire and will to manifest, found the means to give birth to all that was sensed within that dream, within the mind and heart of God.

Born from that creative dilemma are God's first two, called by some the Gold and Silver Rays, by others the Son and the Holy Ghost, and other holy names. From this Trinity, creation and the many mansions of heaven are created.

From Seth Speaks and the Seth Material

Dimly remembered through what you would call history, there was a state of agony in which the powers of creativity and existence were known, but the ways to produce them were not known. All That Is existed in a state of being, but without the means to find expression for Its being. All That Is had to learn this lesson, and could not be taught. From this agony, creativity was originally drawn, and its reflection is still seen. All That Is retains the memory of that state, and it serves as a constant impetus toward renewed creativity. Desire, wish and expectation, therefore, rule all actions and are the basis for all realities. Within the dreams of All That Is, potential beings had consciousness before any beginning as you know it.

In Its massive imagination, It understood that the cosmic multiplication of consciousness could not occur within that framework. Actuality was necessary if these probabilities were to be given birth. All That Is saw an infinity of probable, conscious individuals. These probable individual selves found themselves alive within a God's dream and they clamored to be released into actuality. All That Is yearned to release them and sought within itself for the means to do so.

The first state of agonized search for expression may have represented the birth throes of All That Is as we know it. Pretend, then that you possessed within yourself the knowledge of all the world's masterpieces in sculpture and art, that they pulsed as realities within you, but that you had no physical apparatus, no knowledge of how to achieve them, that there was neither rock nor pigment nor source of any of these, and you ached with the yearning to produce them. This, on an infinitesimally small scale, will perhaps give you as an artist, (speaking to Rob Butts) some idea of the agony and impetus that was felt.

Finally, with love and longing It let go of that portion of itself, and they were free. The psychic energy exploded in a flash of creation.

If you prefer, you can call the supreme psychic gestalt God, but you should not attempt to objectify him. What you call God is the sum of all consciousness, and yet the whole is more than the sum of Its parts. He is not one individual, but an energy gestalt. He is a psychic pyramid of interrelated, ever expanding consciousness, that creates simultaneous and instantaneously, universes and individuals that are given duration, psychic comprehension, intelligence and eternal validity.

Its energy is so unbelievable that is does indeed form all universes; and because its energy is within and behind all universes, fields and systems, it is indeed aware of each sparrow that falls, for it is each sparrow that falls.

All That Is loves all that It has created down to the least, for It realizes the dearness and uniqueness of each consciousness which has been wrest from such a state of agony. It is triumphant and joyful at each development taken by each consciousness, and It revels and takes joy in the slightest creative act of each of Its issues.

The connections between you and All That Is can never be severed, and Its awareness is so delicate and focused that its attention is indeed directed with a prime creator's love to each consciousness.

From Cosmogony of Moses

1. Elohim (God) created in principle (the potential existence of) the Heavens and the Earth.

2. And the Earth was contingent potentiality in a potentiality of being: and Darkness (compressive and hardening force) was upon the face of the Deep (infinite source of potential existence); and the Breath (Divine Spirit) of Elohim, was pregnantly moving upon the face of the Waters (universal passivity).

3. And Elohim said (declaring His Will) Light shall be: and Light was.

4. And Elohim declared (did ken) this Luminous Essence good: and Elohim made a division (caused a dividing motion to exist) between the Light and the Darkness.

5. And Elohim called (declaring His Will) the Light, Day (luminous period, phenomenal manifestation), and the darkness (sensible and material existence), Night (negative manifestation, nutation of things): then were evening and morning (west and east) --first day (first phenomenal manifestation).

From Cosmic Revelation

Many have asked what God looks like and, since we two Rays are the only ones who can enter into the inner ring without harm, I shall describe it for you.

In size I could compare it to something in your solar system like the Earth's Moon. God's energy circumference is perhaps four times larger than your Moon and is filled with the most intense white light energy you can imagine. It is rather circular or roundish in form and has at its very core a center about the size of a ten story building.

This elongated, somewhat cylindrical core is beyond description in its force. Even we would be destroyed if we ventured too close. This core of intense crystal light has intelligence and monitors back to itself, through us, all the information of the various universes. You might describe it as the all knowing channel. When information goes through us, it is instantly absorbed and understood. Your technical people would understand this as a caring self-created memory bank of unbelievable proportion and infinite computational ability.

This God force energy is both the beginning and the ending of a loop that feeds through us its own intention and messages. Thus, it is fed by the many levels from the first dimension of reality right on up through your third dimension and our 22nd level. The many universes' information goes upward through the various rays I created and is filtered back to God after its last stop with the Rays. God's multi-levels are inexpressible. God truly is all-knowning, cosmically cognizant, omnipresent, omnipotent,, and omniscient.

God is absolutely awesome. Yet, it has a caring aspect, also. God is not a machine. God is a Creator who retains interest and concern in the affairs of the many worlds, dimensions, and realities that we Rays, the outpoured energies of God's light, have created in cosmic space.

If you can grasp that this unspeakable One is the giver of cosmic and creative energy, and that all life would die without it, you will realize each human should truly revere and respect this One.

Many scriptures have said that life was created by "the Word" or the wind of God's breath, will, or intention.

However that process has never been defined. The Word, or wind, that was thrust out by God had a second stage in which it was filled with creative energy. This creative energy of force of impulsion came about through decreased vibration--by twin powers--to avoid injuring the more delicate cosmic fabric.

The Bible says that God issued the Word. Another meaning of the Word would be beams of energy, or winds of cosmic power, emanating creative intention. The Gold and Silver Rays are God in expression outside of Itself. Into the womb of life that God had prepared, which we shall call Cosmic energy, that immense force also sent forth part of Itself as two great energy rays for creative purpose. We, the Gold and Silver Rays, were that Word made manifest-"the morning and the night". It is we who have continued to create in God's name since that immaculate conception long ago.

Remember that God has two energies. COSMIC, the energized womb of endless connected fabric of space, and CREATIVE, the two specific energies born of God to bring forth many expression of life and matter.

Cosmic energy occurs in what you term space. Space is a vast interrelated web of God's energy, an apparent emptiness awaiting the birth of material life.

Space is pregnant with opportunity for growth and creations of many kinds--gaseous material and solid object from dust to galaxies. It is an atomic womb of sorts linked by God energy that allows creation to occur.

As the Word, wind, or energy came forth, there was placed into unmanifested space an instantaneous birth of two immense energy streams which are called Rays. These two rays came from from God as two gigantic beams, colored gold and silver, each one-half mile wide and one mile long. This act of reproduction completed a cycle intended by that Great One so it would have both a womb in which to place life and the needed process of using a different but balanced energy quality to fill it.

As the fist two children of God, we Rays knew that we were to create, but in the beginning we did not know how.

Does this seem strange? We were somewhat aware that we were light forces which could travel into space, but the details or clarity of that power were missing. Our Parent wished to remain in its own area and not move out into the far reaches of space; nonetheless, it wished for us and our creations to go forward limitlessly.

My experience of being created from the beingness of the great First Cause was one of awareness. I was conscious of God and myself and my twin, the Silver Ray. If you could see me, there would be a golden stream of radiance a mile long and a half-mile across--greater than a million suns. Before me was an additional awareness--an impression of immense spaciousness containing vitality but no matter. I knew that I was being encouraged to create something to fill the "void". It was like having a blank check or canvas. After a time of simple experimentation, the Silver Ray and I worked together to create a planet and then a universe. We learned by doing, even as your soul does.

You should continue to think of God as the ultimate Creator, but it is his twin offspring who have created all physical matter and placed all life, even the life of souls, or energy beams, upon it.

We are the creators of the many mansions; we are directly using God's energy. With our Parent's support we bring your soul and all physical life into safety and sustain it there! Life is to be respected and preserved. Grasp that and you understand God and the Rays.

From the Urantia Book:

God the Absolute and Limitless:

There is but one God, the infinite Father, who is also a faithful Creator. The divine Creator is also the Universal Disposer, the source and destiny of souls. He is the Supreme Soul, the Primal Mind, and the Unlimited Spirit of all creation. The great Controller makes no mistakes. He is resplendent in majesty and glory. The Creator God is wholly devoid of fear and enmity. He is immortal, eternal, self-existent, divine, and bountiful. How pure and beautiful, how deep and unfathomable is the supernal Ancestor of all things! The Infinite is most excellent in that he imparts himself to men. He is the beginning and the end, the Father of every good and perfect purpose. With God all things are possible; the eternal Creator is the cause of causes.

God is not hiding from any of his creatures. He is unapproachable to so many orders of beings only because he "dwells in a light which no material creature can approach. The immensity and grandeur of the divine personality is beyond the grasp of the unperfected mind of evolutionary mortals. He "measures the waters in the hollow of his hand, measures a universe with the span of his hand. It is he who sits on the circle of the earth, who stretches out the heavens as a curtain and spreads them out as a universe to dwell in." "Lift up your eyes on high and behold who has created all these things, who brings out their worlds by number and calls them all by their names"; and so it is true that "the invisible things of God are partially understood by the things which are made." Today, and as you are, you must discern the invisible Maker through his manifold and diverse creation, as well as through the revelation and ministration of his Sons and their numerous subordinates.

The creation of every new universe calls for a new adjustment of gravity; but even if creation should continue indefinitely, eternally,even to infinity, so that eventually the material creation would exist without limitations, still the power of control and co-ordination reposing in the Isle of Paradise would be found equal to, and adequate for, the mastery, control, and co-ordination of such an infinite universe. And subsequent to this bestowal of limitless force and power upon a boundless universe, the Infinite would still be surcharged with the same degree of force and energy; the Unqualified Absolute would still be undiminished; God would still possess the same infinite potential, just as if force, energy, and power had never been poured forth for the endowment of universe upon universe.

Touching the Infinite, we cannot find him out. The divine footsteps are not known." "His understanding is infinite and his greatness is unsearchable." The blinding light of the Father's presence is such that to his lowly creatures he apparently "dwells in the thick darkness." Not only are his thoughts and plans unsearchable, but "he does great and marvelous things without number." "God is great; we comprehend him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out." "Will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, the heaven (universe) and the heaven of heavens (universe of universes) cannot contain him." "How unsearchable are his judgments and his ways past finding out!"

The Eternal Son

The Universal Father never personally functions as a creator except in conjunction with the Son or with the co-ordinate action of the Son. Had the New Testament writer referred to the Eternal Son, he would have uttered the truth when he wrote: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made."

The Eternal Son is the original and only-begotten Son of God. He is God the Son, the Second Person of Deity and the associate creator of all things. As the Father is the First Great Source and Center, so the Eternal Son is the Second Great Source and Center.

The Eternal Son is the spiritual center and the divine administrator of the spiritual government of the universe of universes. The Universal Father is first a creator and then a controller; the Eternal Son is first a cocreator and then a spiritual administrator. "God is spirit," and the Son is a personal revelation of that spirit. The First Source and Center is the Volitional Absolute; the Second Source and Center is the Personality Absolute.

The Son not only possesses all the Father's infinite and transcendent righteousness, but the Son is also reflective of all the Father's holiness of character. The Son shares the Father's perfection and jointly shares the responsibility of aiding all creatures of imperfection in their spiritual efforts to attain divine perfection.

To comprehend the love of the Eternal Son, you must first perceive its divine source, the Father, who is love, and then behold the unfolding of this infinite affection in the far-flung ministry of the Infinite Spirit and his almost limitless host of ministering personalities.

The ministry of the Eternal Son is devoted to the revelation of the God of love to the universe of universes. This divine Son is not engaged in the ignoble task of trying to persuade his gracious Father to love his lowly creatures and to show mercy to the wrongdoers of time. How wrong to envisage the Eternal Son as appealing to the Universal Father to show mercy to his lowly creatures on the material worlds of space! Such concepts of God are crude and grotesque. Rather should you realize that all the merciful ministrations of the Sons of God are a direct revelation of the Father's heart of universal love and infinite compassion. The Father's love is the real and eternal source of the Son's mercy.

God is love, the Son is mercy. Mercy is applied love, the Father's love in action in the person of his Eternal Son. The love of this universal Son is likewise universal.

Infinite Spirit

Back in eternity, when the Universal Father's "first" infinite and absolute thought finds in the Eternal Son such a perfect and adequate word for its divine expression, there ensues the supreme desire of both the Thought-God and the Word-God for a universal and infinite agent of mutual expression and combined action.

In the dawn of eternity both the Father and the Son become infinitely cognizant of their mutual interdependence, their eternal and absolute oneness; and therefore do they enter into an infinite and everlasting covenant of divine partnership. This never-ending compact is made for the execution of their united concepts throughout all of the circle of eternity; and ever since this eternity event the Father and the Son continue in this divine union.

We are now face to face with the eternity origin of the Infinite Spirit, the Third Person of Deity. The very instant that God the Father and God the Son conjointly conceive an identical and infinite action -- the execution of an absolute thought-plan -- that very moment, the Infinite Spirit springs full-fledgedly into existence.

In thus reciting the order of the origin of the Deities, I do so merely to enable you to think of their relationship. In reality they are all three existent from eternity; they are existential. They are without beginning or ending of days; they are co-ordinate, supreme, ultimate, absolute, and infinite. They are and always have been and ever shall be. And they are three distinctly individualized but eternally associated persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit.

In the eternity of the past, upon the personalization of the Infinite Spirit the divine personality cycle becomes perfect and complete. The God of Action is existent, and the vast stage of space is set for the stupendous drama of creation -- the universal adventure -- the divine panorama of the eternal ages.

The first act of the Infinite Spirit is the inspection and recognition of his divine parents, the Father-Father and the Mother-Son. He, the Spirit, unqualifiedly identifies both of them. He is fully cognizant of their separate personalities and infinite attributes as well as of their combined nature and united function. Next, voluntarily, with transcendent willingness and inspiring spontaneity, the Third Person of Deity, notwithstanding his equality with the First and Second Persons, pledges eternal loyalty to God the Father and acknowledges everlasting dependence upon God the Son.

Inherent in the nature of this transaction and in mutual recognition of the personality independence of each and the executive union of all three, the cycle of eternity is established. The Paradise Trinity is existent. The stage of universal space is set for the manifold and never-ending panorama of the creative unfolding of the purpose of the Universal Father through the personality of the Eternal Son and by the execution of the God of Action, the executive agency for the reality performances of the Father-Son creator partnership.

The God of Action functions and the dead vaults of space are astir. One billion perfect spheres flash into existence. Prior to this hypothetical eternity moment the space-energies inherent in Paradise are existent and potentially operative, but they have no actuality of being; neither can physical gravity be measured except by the reaction of material realities to its incessant pull. There is no material universe at this (assumed) eternally distant moment, but the very instant that one billion worlds materialize, there is in evidence gravity sufficient and adequate to hold them in the everlasting grasp of Paradise.

There now flashes through the creation of the Gods the second form of energy, and this outflowing spirit is instantly grasped by the spiritual gravity of the Eternal Son. Thus the twofold gravity-embraced universe is touched with the energy of infinity and immersed in the spirit of divinity. In this way is the soil of life prepared for the consciousness of mind made manifest in the associated intelligence circuits of the Infinite Spirit.

Upon these seeds of potential existence, diffused throughout the central creation of the Gods, the Father acts, and creature personality appears. Then does the presence of the Paradise Deities fill all organized space and begin effectively to draw all things and beings Paradiseward.

Selections do not necessarily appear in the order given from the original text, but rather are selected for their illumination of the beginning. Due to the lack of space in this newsletter and my desire to keep things readable, I hope the reader can begin to intuit some of the connections which I feel are apparent in these selections.

The Absolute

I am the Absolute. I am birthless,

Deathless, eternal;

The baseless Base of Beginnings,

The Sure Foundation unmeasured,

The Causeless Cause of Causation,

The living Root of Illusion.

All these am I, and other things Unmentioned;

The sum total of Reality expressed in Naught;

Unmoved, unquestioned, undefined:

I am Omnipotent.

Veiled by the robes of empty space,

I dream the troubled nightmare of Creation's Plan,

to wake and find creation's Plan dissolved again in Me.

Worlds are my dreams; the endless

March of suns live while I sleep and die

With my awakening,

For life is death and death is life In Me.

Creation I permit, yet am not of it,

Nor deceived thereby.

Life and death I sanction: they are Both in Me;

They come and go, yet steadfast I remain,

Unmoved by these.

Wrapped in my seething robes of mystery,

Jewel-spangled by a hundred million suns,

Lifeless, deathless, being-less, I remain,

Permanent, unmoved.

From Me you came, O myriad sparks Unnumbered;

From my dark wheels I hurled you into being.

I gave you selves and robbed you of Myself,

The Selfless All.

Into my embrace I bid you come once more,

Fulfilling the law which bids the Wheels of Being.

To launch you home again, Your labors done.

Of me you little know,

and yet Am I the sum of all that has been, is, or yet to come,

the Plan, the Planner and the Planned for All in one.

And that One, nameless, being-less, hypothetical,

And yet a solid emptiness that none can crush or bend, or break,

and far less can destroy.

For even destruction cannot shatter that power

Which is destruction's base.

No thing by God or Man devised can injure Me,

For when all else is fallen, shattered, Broken,

I remain.

Would you storm my Mystery and seek to find

That which is behind my veil, Oblivion?

Then senseless, being-less, creation-less

Though must become.

The thundering boom of Silence is my Voice;

Stillness is the herald of my way appointed;

Being-less, I am present most when most away.

Not-Being is my Name, by no other will I be known.

Limitless, I know no limitation save those passing forms

which dwell within the aura of my Majesty

While I permit.

I am the Absolute; I, the One before the beginning.

By those whom I discover I am known,

My secrets fathomed.

The Word unspoken is my Name,

I am the All-Pervading.
