Celebrating the Christ Within You

You have called me forth by your love for me, and the Father of all creation. I speak to you about the love aspect of God, for you are to bring that love into the physical expression of your being. Love as I have said to you throughout the ages is my key to your heart, and your key to the Father through me. Do you understand what I am saying? You are the light and love of the Father, and I am that light within you. We are one in the infinite light of the Creator.

Honoring Jesus The Christ

As we turn our attention to the holidays, people are celebrating their faith, their relationship to God, to man, to friends and family. Christmas is celebrated around the world by many, and the story of Jesus is being interpreted according to religious training, faith, and belief. I ask myself, what are the universal messages of Jesus, known as the Christ?

For me; God is God Transcendent and God Immanent. God Transcendent is the Mystery, all Powerful, Loving and Intelligent; beyond all forms of life, and the creator of all forms and the animating life within. God Immanent is God existing in all. This is of course a mystery too, how God manages do this, and yet sages, mystics all testify to this truth. From the Bhagavad Gita, "Having pervaded this whole Universe with a fragment of Myself, I remain."

Each avatar brings forth an aspect of God in the manner which humanity can receive him/her at the time. Christ brought forth the message of the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man. The message is a message of Love. Love's messages are messages of unity, of brotherhood, and of goodwill. Love is a message of God's love for all His people and all His creation, and it's message is that within each of us dwells a spark of that divine consciousness, whether you call it Christ Consciousness, the Divine I Am Presence, or Atma.

Christ's message was of an open heart which could embrace his brothers and sisters. In his life he embraced people from all walks of life, rich and poor, from every religion and from every nation that he encountered. He saw everyone as he saw himself, a son or daughter of God, and he told each that the Kingdom of God lived within them.

"The evolutionary force to which we give the name "the Christ consciousness" focused itself in the person of the Christ in a manner hitherto unknown. This is the potency, latent in every human heart which was described by St. Paul as "Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Col. I.27), and is that which, under evolutionary law, brings a man eventually into the Kingdom of God and "unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." (Eph. IV.13.) Of this potency and glory, Christ has ever been the symbol."

There is no single presentation of God or Christ that conveys the full true story. I suspect that is an impossible task, to convey to humanity in a single revelation all that can be known about God, avatars, and the evolution of man. Rather we learn and expand our knowledge as humanity grows in its capacity to receive divinity, and implement what we have been given. The following are some excepts from writers who shed some light on Jesus The Christ and his relationship to God and man.

From Cosmic Revelation channeled by Ann Valentin and Virginia Essene:

"The Bible says that God issued the Word. Another meaning of the Word would be beams of energy or winds of cosmic power, emanating creative intention. The Gold and Silver Rays are God in expression outside of Itself. Into the womb of life (space) that God had prepared, which we shall call Cosmic energy, that immense force also sent forth part of itself as two great energy rays for creative purposes. We, the Gold and Silver Rays, were that Word made manifest - "the morning and the night." It is we who have continued to create in God's name since that immaculate conception long ago.

"The great teachers of all major world religions have been fueled by the force and power of the Gold Ray. Your term "Christ Consciousness" or "Christ Light" means there is a universal understanding and respect for God and the laws which uphold creation. My energy is the Christ Consciousness or Christ Light in this 12th Universe. This is often just called light or love. "The Christ" usually means a world teacher of light and inspiration - a particular soul using the Gold Ray to improve the spiritual quality of souls."

"At the time of this Wesak Festival, I would call your attention to the fact that the annual return of the Buddha to bless His people everywhere and to convey the message of wisdom, light and love to humanity-coming as He does from the very Heart of Deity Itself-is the outer evidence and guarantee of inner divine guidance and revelation in this present world cycle of 2500 years. Year by year He returns. For a brief minute He reminds us that God exists and ever loves; that He is not unmindful of His people; that the heart of the universe is unalterable compassion, and that man is not alone. To bring this recognition about and to make this appearance possible, a living Triangle of Energy is created and focused through three great spiritual Individuals, Who evoke recognition both in the East and in the West. They are known to believers of every faith and all nationalities. These Three are:

1. The Lord of the World, the Ancient of Days, Sanat Kumara, the planetary Logos, Melchizedek, He to Whom Christ referred when He said, "I and My Father are One."

2. The Buddha, the Illumined One, the Revealer of the light and the wisdom which come to us from sources far greater than our planetary Life, a Messenger of the Gods.

3. The Christ, the Son of the Father, the World Saviour, the Redeemer. He Who has remained with us and Who is gathering His sheep into His fold, the Lord of Love.

"In these Three, Whose nature is radiant love and light, humanity can grasp in some measure the nature of divinity. They are greater than is known or realised; human intelligence and aspiration can only sense Their essential nature.

"The Spirit of Peace will, when the right time comes, vitalise the responsiveness of humanity, via the influence of the Hierarchy, to the will of God which has for basic intent the bringing of peace on earth. What is peace? It is essentially the establishing of right human relations, of synthetic rapport with its resultant cooperation, of correct interplay between the three planetary centres and an illumined, loving understanding of the will of God as it affects humanity and works out divine intent. It is for this reason that the Christ, Who established for the first time in planetary history a contact between the Hierarchy, Humanity, Shamballa and the Spirit of Peace in His Own high place, in His first recorded utterance said that He must be about His Father's business and then at the end of His life, reiterated the same thought in the words: "Father, not my will but Thine be done," thus carrying the thought up to the highest plane for He addressed the Father, the first Aspect of Divinity. He then focused in Himself the two major divine attributes and aspects-will and love (atma-buddhi)-and because of this, His consciousness became extra-planetary as is the consciousness of the Lord of the World, and He could then touch certain heights of awareness and contact certain solar Agencies which had never before been contacted by man. This achievement enabled Him to put Humanity in touch with the Spirit of Peace. He thus Himself became the Light of the World and the Prince of Peace.

"In this manner, Shamballa and the Hierarchy were brought into a close relationship and two great streams of force were blended and a definite interplay set up between them. The Buddha, through His achievement of illumination, established the first major link with the Forces of Light. The Christ, through His ability to express the will of God in love and as world salvage, established the first major link with the Spirit of Peace."

Jesus as the Son of Man, and Jesus as the Son of God expresses a two-fold idea. One that Jesus was a man: he was born, lived, and died-ascended in a physical body. This idea of Jesus being mortal is often overlooked, or denied. But it gives credence and hope to the idea that man can achieve spiritual heights and know God. Jesus as the Christ expresses the idea that Jesus was overshadowed, if you will, by the aspect of God as love. As an avatar Jesus came to earth with a purpose: as a man Jesus had to go through all the human trials to become the divine being that he was.

From the Urantia Book:

"Jesus' devotion to the Father's will and the service of man was even more than mortal decision and human determination; it was a wholehearted consecration of himself to such an unreserved bestowal of love. No matter how great the fact of the sovereignty of Michael, (Christ Michael) you must not take the human Jesus away from men. The Master has ascended on high as a man, as well as God; he belongs to men; men belong to him. How unfortunate that religion itself should be so misinterpreted as to take the human Jesus away from struggling mortals! Let not the discussions of the humanity or the divinity of the Christ obscure the saving truth that Jesus of Nazareth was a religious man who, by faith, achieved the knowing and the doing of the will of God; he was the most truly religious man who has ever lived on Urantia (Earth).

"Just as men must progress from the consciousness of the human to the realization of the divine, so did Jesus ascend from the nature of man to the consciousness of the nature of God. And the Master made this great ascent from the human to the divine by the conjoint achievement of the faith of his mortal intellect and the acts of his indwelling Adjuster (Spirit).

"Be not discouraged; human evolution is still in progress, and the revelation of God to the world, in and through Jesus, shall not fail.

"The great challenge to modern man is to achieve better communication with the divine Monitor (Spirit) that dwells within the human mind. Man's greatest adventure in the flesh consists in the well-balanced and sane effort to advance the borders of self-consciousness out through the dim realms of embryonic soul-consciousness in a wholehearted effort to reach the borderland of spirit-consciousness -- contact with the divine presence. Such an experience constitutes God-consciousness, an experience mightily confirmative of the pre-existent truth of the religious experience of knowing God. Such spirit-consciousness is the equivalent of the knowledge of the actuality of sonship with God. Otherwise, the assurance of sonship is the experience of faith.

"And God-consciousness is equivalent to the integration of the self with the universe, and on its highest levels of spiritual reality. Only the spirit content of any value is imperishable. Even that which is true, beautiful, and good may not perish in human experience. If man does not choose to survive, then does the surviving Adjuster (indwelling spirit) conserve those realities born of love and nurtured in service. And all these things are a part of the Universal Father. The Father is living love, and this life of the Father is in his Sons. And the spirit of the Father is in his Sons' sons -- mortal men."

The ideas are complex: What is man and what is our relationship to God? Who are these men and women who claim to know God and impact our humanity and history so? I have been drawing upon different sources to illuminate the questions, and perhaps stirring some thoughts of your own. Perhaps poetry best expresses that which our intellects and hearts strive to comprehend. May faith, hope, and a discerning mind lead us to experience and knowing.

From Messages from Maitreya the Christ through Benjamin Creme:

"My dear friends, I am with you once more.

My mission, as I have said, is twofold: to release you from the bondage of your self- imposed limitations, and to take you with Me back to God.

I shall show you that through the right distribution of this earth's manifold resources all men may enjoy God's bounty.

I shall show you, too, that the Path to God is simple indeed, that your Divine Spark will become manifest through Me.

"Let Me do this work for you, My friends.

Let Me lead you into your Divine Heritage.

I shall show you wonders of which you cannot dream.

I shall release from your eyes the blindfold of ignorance.

I shall drive from this earth forever the curse of hatred, the sin of separation.

Let Me take you with Me, My friends, back to your Source, back to the cradle of your Being, and release in you your Godhead.

"My Masters will serve you, too, will teach you to live together in true brotherhood, in justice and harmony.

Forget not, My brothers, that you are One, that the Father of All has created you in His Divine Image, that through you shines the same blessed Light of Love and Truth.

"The time is coming, My friends, when the Light of Truth shall shine all around you, when Man shall take his brother to his heart and know him as himself.

Let Me lead you, My friends, into that blessed state.

Say yes to My Advent.

Say yea to My Coming, and be enfolded in the blessing of My Love.

"May the Divine Light and Love and Power of the One Most Holy God be now manifest within your hearts and minds.

May this manifestation lead you to see yourselves, together, as children of the One Father."

Spirit Guides

It is said that we are born alone and we die alone. Certainly, no human can accompany us through these transitions, but we are assisted in these passages by our own Spirit Guides who continue to watch and assist our soul's sojourn into this third-dimensional reality.

Everyone incarnated here is accompanied by a set of Spirit Guides that number anywhere from at least 3 to as many as 12 entities, all composed entirely of pure spirit. At this stage in soul evolution their life purpose is to provide guidance for their "assigned human", without interfering, as we walk our path here on Earth. Spirit Guides are totally conscious beings who are not hindered by "the veil". They are part of our soul's continuing evolution and accompany us through many lifetimes.

Because we live in a free-will zone, they cannot interfere with our right to chose in all we do. They can see where their assigned human is at all times, the condition of all four bodies, and simultaneously, the condition of everything else in the universe. All children hear their intuition, but, as time goes by, the glamour of life pulls attention away from their natural listening. Someone who is living in the world of personality and unawakened to spirit is still protected by their Spirit Guides. Spirit Guides have perfect control over physical circumstances. For example, they can adjust force and direction perfectly so people can go through vehicular collisions of tremendous force and walk away without a scratch because the flying pieces just missed doing harm. Situations like this are used for sending strong messages. Most message are much more subtle.

Spirit Guides communicate to us via what is popularly known as "intuition" or "that still, small voice within". Learning to listen to this voice is one of the key developments along the spiritual path. Spirit Guides are a level above us in soul evolution and are every bit as clever as the human under their charge. The avenues of communication are many and varied. They may use other people or entities to get a message to our conscious mind. For instance, sometimes we overhear a snatch of conversation and a phrase or sentence will suddenly be heard as louder than the rest of the sentences. That same phrase might be staring up at us from a discarded newspaper that catches our eye, or perhaps suddenly the phrase is heard on the radio. Unexpectedly, we are moved from a state of inner reverie to that of 3rd dimensional awareness.

Lee Carroll, acting as a channel for an entity named Kryon, writes about Spirit Guides in his books "The End Times" and "Don't Think Like A Human". He indicates we have varying numbers of guides depending on our involvement with spirit. Sometimes, he says, there is a complete "changing of the guard" and all of the present guides go on to other service. The new guides, for some reason, are not able to communicate with their human right away and there is a sense of voidness or blackness that lasts for 90 days. During this time, the person involved may wish they were dead, but won't make any move towards making that happen. They feel like they have been cast out alone, disconnected from their inner self. But then, gradually, the new Spirit Guides make their presence felt and the person goes on to what is perceived as their "new life".

Spirit Guides are not hampered by the veil and have goals in mind; goals which have been agreed upon by the soul who is undergoing incarnation and the attendant Spirit Guides. A book that documents this process is "A Journey of Souls" by Michael Newton, Ph.D. Newton used hypnotic regression to interview thousands of people as to their in-between-lives activity in the spirit world. His descriptions are quite illuminating. His studies indicate that there is a "marshalling of forces", just before incarnation. As the upcoming lifetime is reviewed, the soul and attendant guides agree on events to key on that indicate life-altering moments. These events will be perceived as special by the personality. The soul and guides review the intent of the pending lifetime and concur as to what tests and strengthening are planned. Likewise with spiritual objectives.

After a person passes the first initiation and starts to follow spirit, their soul extends more and more of its attention to the personality instead of concentrating so much on the spirit energy pouring in from above it. Previous to this, messages from the Spirit Guides are mostly ignored by the personality so not many are sent. As past karma begins to flood back for reconciliation, the initiate encounters many tough situations, which often prod the disciple into pleading for help from the cosmos. This help is presented by their Spirit Guides, although it is possibly in a different form than requested, which prompts even more growth and awareness. Spirit Guides have a higher purpose in mind than simply survival of the personality on the physical plane. There is work to be done, and generally speaking, it amounts to raising the vibration in the immediate environment.

As the rapport between the personality and the Spirit Guides improves, a crisis inevitably occurs when the Spirit Guides ask the personality to do something that the personality is loath to do. Usually this has to do with facing fears or it may involve a request to exert more energy than the disciple wants to. In any case, the ultimate confrontation comes over the decision of the conscious person to follow spirit rather than their ego-driven goals. This is the 4th initiation or "crucifixion of the spirit in matter", and it is where the "dark night of the soul" is usually passed. Upon taking the plunge, the soul is evermore in control of the entire mind/body/spirit complex and things "just happen" to that person in the material world as they pursue spirit.

To be in this space demands faith, courage and a relentless expenditure of energy in service of The Divine. Carlos Castaneda was instructed by his teacher, Don Juan, that Spirit Warriors (also known as Light Workers) trust their Spirit Guides so completely that they keep neither appointment books nor timepieces like watches and calendars. They simply rely upon their Spirit Guides to get them where they're supposed to be when they're supposed to be there. This ability to trust represents the goal in becoming conscious about our guides. One of the most critical things for Spirit Warriors working to raise the vibratory rate here over the next few years is to have confidence in themselves and their Spirit Guides to accomplish tasks of unspeakable bravery and impact.

Once dedicated to the Service-To-Others path, it is important to understand that the next step in soul evolution is to think for oneself, and not be simply a machine that follows explicit instructions that may come from the spirit world. Sometimes, I seek direction from my Spirit Guides and they answer me nothing. At times like this, I realize that they want me to think for myself. This is a situation where I have a choice and I need to find my own direction. This happens more and more as one climbs the path. Ultimately, the goal is to be a Master, able to handle any situation, with Spirit Guides or not.

Not too long ago, it seemed that only people like Joan of Arc were capable of "hearing voices" that gave unearthly instructions leading to a fulfillment of Divine purpose. The fact is we all have Spirit Guides and it is up to us to first invoke them, then listen to them as best we can. Certainly in meditation is a good place to start. Address them as you would any other person that you respect and honor. They are much more likely to try and contact you if you first try to contact them. Respectfully request their input during the day. The real mastery comes in responding to their direction when out in the world, with all its distractions and demands.

Anyone who has worked with young athletes knows that complex strategy is wasted on them. They must first learn the fundamental skill of the game being played. If the game is basketball, they first practice shooting baskets. When this becomes routine, more complicated plays can be learned. In the same way, then, practice contacting your guides at every possible opportunity. This is the basic skill. More complex work can be attempted later. They are not "too busy" for drills. If you have a cold cup of coffee you want to warm in the microwave, ask your Spirit Guides how many seconds to set for the timer. It sounds so trite, but there is a mindset of going to the buttons with no exact numbers in your mind, nothing but a well-formed intent to heat this particular mass of matter to a temperature which you must somehow tell your guides about in a subjective way. They take this subjective information and translate it into a number that you are ready to receive. No second-guessing. Take the number and push "START". How did the coffee turn out? Is it scorching? Lukewarm? Use this feedback to modify your next attempt. It's the exercise that is the useful thing. Communicate with your Spirit Guides as much as you can. They can search for parking places, addresses or lost items. They can pick out strangers that are worth talking to when you have to select someone to sit next to while you eat your just-purchased lunch. They can warn you about nearly-exhausted walkman batteries before you leave the house and help you find just the right book for you in the bookstore.

There are many dimensions from which we receive information, but not all information comes from Spirit Guides. They do not generate dreams. Dreams are a direct dialogue with our own soul and are always given in symbolic language, since our soul is at such a higher level than our conscious mind. Remember that our Spirit Guides and our souls are constantly communicating in the spirit world, so it is possible that Spirit Guides may provide subject matter to the soul to be used in dreaming.

It is very possible that you may be a Spirit Guide in your next lifetime of soul evolution. Once earthly karma has been satisfied, we can break away from "samsara" or the endless wheel of death and rebirth, having finally learned the lessons we came here to learn. There are many here at this time undergoing their last Earth incarnation, and there are several different paths their soul can take after liberation. Being a Spirit Guide is one of them. If you often find yourself being responsible for other people, this lifetime may be "field training" for you. Remember, work with your Spirit Guides all day, every day. They are your link to the Hierarchy, and it is at their pushing that you can become a Spirit Warrior yourself, the prime tool for performing the work of the Divine.

Decorating Our Christmas Tree

Grand indeed are the energies which pour down upon your planet at this sacred holiday time. A time in which you honor the birthing of Jesus, Sananda, Maitreya, and others which came forth 2000 years ago to bless your planet, to bless humanity with the particular messages of love, brotherhood, compassion, and truth, which those known as Jesus Christ brought forth.

The Christ does dwell within each, the divine spark of God which has many names. This is a very special time of honoring that light within you. For honoring the potential and the dream which is held within yourselves, with the hierarchy, and indeed within the heart and mind of God; Father-Mother-Creator, for the planet, for humanity, and the children of God.

The tree. The life force itself,

Shakti, Kundalini, Mother,

With its roots in matter, stretching downward.

Downward toward the creation,

The source of creation.

Inward toward the soil, the earth.

Feeling its way toward earth consciousness.

Feeling its way into existence,

Into the vibration which your dimension is.

Those are the roots, the impulse.

Stretching out consciousness,

Stretching out the psychic potential of All That Is,

The upward reaching of the trunk,

The upward reaching of consciousness toward Source.

The branches, all the avenues of expression.

This you lace and decorate with all the lights.

Lights, like consciousness,

Strung out from moment to moment,

Awareness from moment to moment

in a continuum of time.

Sparkling, weaving through all the branches.

Adding onto the map of creation.

Unto this you add your ornaments.

Feel the ornamentation,

It is indeed the ornaments of your own life,

That which you have embellished your self with,

That which is your own decorating and celebrating of your being.

Decorating your tree with every facet of being,

For each there are so many,

So rich in potential and expression.

You have gifts from friends,

Which is the gift of relationship, camaraderie.

You have ornaments which represent skills, talents, and the times in your life.

We can have dream body ornaments,

Where dreams that you remember and the selves

That you are as a dreamer are represented.

An astral body ornament

For all your excursions into that realm.

A multidimensional representation of your being

Hung upon your Christmas tree.

As well as all the embodiments

You have chosen from your physical reality.

For indeed this is your tree.

So as you decorate your tree this year pay attention to the ornaments, from where each of these ornaments have come from, and what meaning they hold for you. For they are symbols which you have brought along with you, and are important to you. You have chosen them, and you have hung them upon this tree which you have decorated with many lights. You can see our tree is full of rich symbology, and there are many more layers of symbology which you can discover and apply to your life.

A joyous time the holidays, full of potential for celebrating and honoring life; and the Christ, and the Christ within each. The praise of God, the time which your western culture takes a moment to remember Divinity, letting your light radiate toward God.

A great truth was enacted upon your planet with the birthing of Jesus. A great truth was given. As much as possible, and in your own special way of course, tune inward to that story and what it may mean for each of you. And we say, in whatever way you decide to accept His gift, no matter what religion, whether you are Jew, Catholic, Hindu, Protestant, Atheist, on some layer in some way the gifts of love, of brotherhood, of the Son, and you all are sons and daughters of God, the universe of form, of energy, of consciousness and light, the story has meaning for all. The story of the Christ, earth, the barn, the three wise men, are all richly filled with many layers of symbolism.

Remember the Divine Trinity, and indeed speculate about how the Trinity manifests in so many ways. Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; the Father, the Son and the Mother; Satchitananda; all have their representation and ways of symbolizing God, Source and the manifestation. This is the great dance, and the great dance comes from the One, and is the manifestation of the One, so you see it must indeed lead back to the One.
