Seekers of the Light: Remember that your eyes, your hearts, your bodies - are the instruments that God uses to rescue His other children from their own folly. Remember too that on each of His children the Creator of All That Is has placed the sure signs of identity - which tell the truth to any with eyes to see. Empower Love

"Let us begin. Attuning to the great upheavals and disruptions which are upon the earth at this time. Sending light love to the center where this current affliction is occurring. Divine love for all. For those who are caught up in these tragedies, may the afflictions be diminished through the intention of minimizing the atrocities of war.

"From our perspective, or from mine, love...the extending of love, whether it is perceivable in external manifestation or not, is a soothing, healing, liquid golden salve. Applied to the psyche of man and to earth, one of the ways in which that love will manifest is as hope. Hope for a brighter day. Hope for a new way...a new way of being upon the earth. A new way for humanity to be in relationship to themselves, to each other, to earth, and to God; and that these deep seated afflictions of humanity and the soul, will be illuminated with light and love. Healed with golden pink rays, transformed by the violet ray, and harmony rising out of conflict.

"May the seeds of a world community which have been planted here upon earth be brought to fruition, and not the individual bickering for power which is so often included in the practice of diplomacy. Rather, world powers doing their utmost to resolve conflict by nondestructive, non-warring means, sparing the innocent.

"Simultaneously realizing, where there is oppression, the world community cannot simply turn its back. Where there is suffering, where the will of one is being suppressed, violated, and subjugated by another, that is not the plan for humanity. That is not honoring each individual's right and freedom to chose their way upon the earth. Live in harmony while honoring diversity.

"Diversity does not inevitably lead to war and conflict. In other words, Jew and Palestinian can live side by side, each respecting the others' beliefs and ways of life. One does not need to overthrow the other in order to protect one's rights, and honor one's unique way of life.

"Liberty, pursuit of happiness, and justice are broad sweeping concepts and rights which are applicable to all life. Overthrowing and violating another are not intrinsic qualities of government, whether it be democracy and capitalism, communism, or any other form of government. Nor is conflict intrinsic to any religion. All this diversity within humanity and upon earth can coexist in harmony, each bringing its attributes and gifts to the whole. Each can work in relationship to the other, without violating the other.

"Violation is not one's right. One is not fighting for their religion in this sense. These ideologies are not at the root of the conflicts. The root is, in a broad sweeping sense, the desire for empowerment. The desire for power. The desire to live your life empowered. Not to be subjugated to another. Not to suffer at the hands of others. Not to be impoverished. The drive is empowerment to live your life as you so desire.

"So far, the means to achieve that has been through power. Power over other. From the beginning of your primitive cultures, to the technological societies you currently have, the struggle for survival has been in competition with other, and the seeing of other as not self."...

(Unfortunately I was interrupted and had to temporarily end the session. Upon returning, I forgot to turn on the microphone and lost most of the rest of the session. However I was encouraged to add my own words here, and to try to recollect at least part of the message.)

My words: from the sticks and rocks of primitive man, to the atomic weapons of current day, mankind has used power to destroy that which has been perceived as a threat to his survival and his way of life. Man is vulnerable. We can be killed, enslaved, tortured, and all the other atrocities that mankind has inflicted upon one another. We have developed ever greater power in order to protect ourselves. Power has been the means to protect our vulnerability, our life.

Few believe that love has any power to protect us. Judas betrayed Jesus in the hope that Jesus would use his God given powers to save himself and his people. Judas hoped that Jesus would use his power to restore freedom to his people, to empower them once again so they would not be suppressed. However, Jesus' message was one of peace and love, even in the face of death.

Power was separate from love. Power became the means to ensure our survival, safety, and our way of life. It is this relationship between power and vulnerability that is at the heart of these conflicts, and not the specifics of any religion or government. It is the hatred and fear of suppression and the diminishment of our being, which all have experienced to one degree or another, that on the international level keeps mankind symbolically and literally developing ever greater means of power, to wield the ever bigger stick.

Ultimately, on the collective and individual level, power over another is not the answer. Humanity will be stuck in this inner conflict, between its vulnerability and power, until humanity realizes power separated from love will never keep one safe. Someone's freedom is another's enslavement. Someone's abundance is another's poverty. Someone, somewhere will always be kept suppressed, and the suffering and killing will go on.

The problem has been that love has not been perceived as being able to keep anyone safe. Love has not stopped a ruthless dictator. Gandhi and others who have championed peace, have died at the hands of others. Love is meek, and easy prey.

The answer I receive to this dilemma is, "to empower love". Love is not a force that can be used to overpower another. Within love are contained the attributes of brotherhood, peace, joy, freedom, justice, the right to self determination, treat your neighbor as you wish to be treated, and much more. Love is a collective choice. It is freedom and abundance for all. It honors diversity and choice.

The pattern that humanity has been locked into is seeing other as not self, as other. There is Oneness, and there is fragmentation. That Oneness is Love, and the Oneness fragmented to give birth to All That Is, and that Love dwells within each of us. The path of healing is through ourselves and owning our projections...choosing Love and all it embraces, for all of mankind.

"Let us all pray for peace. That love may be manifested in the hearts and minds of mankind, and that there be an end to the violating of one another. May there be an end to the self hatred, whether or not you are aware of that, it is in you. May there be an end to the projecting upon others all of our own inner woundings. May we be healed within, and may that healing and love be projected upon others. Of course, not in a way which limits anyone, or dictates circumstances, but only as a will of good intention, of healing, of love light, of their being made full in life. Let us say three Oms together."

Know, O man, that Light is thine heritage.

Know that darkness is only a veil.

Sealed in thine heart is brightness eternal,

waiting the moment of freedom to conquer,

waiting to rend the veil of the night.

Some I found who had conquered the ether.

Free of space were they

while yet they were men.

Using the force

that is the foundation of ALL things,

far in space constructed they a planet,

drawn by the force that flows through the ALL;

condensing, coalescing the ether

into forms that grow as they willed.

Outstripping in science, they, all of the races,

might in wisdom, sons of the stars.

Long time I paused, watching their wisdom.

Saw them create from out of the ether

cities gigantic of rose and gold.

Formed forth from the primal element,

base of all matter, the ether far flung.

Far in the past, they had conquered the ether,

freed themselves from the bondage of toil;

formed in their mind only a picture

and swiftly created, it grew.

Forth then, my soul sped,

throughout the Cosmos,

seeing ever, new things and old;

learning that man is truly space-born,

a Sun of the Sun, a child of the stars.

Know ye, O man, whatever form ye inhabit,

surely it is one with the stars.

Thy bodies are nothing but planets

revolving around their central suns.

When ye have gained the light of all wisdom,

free shall ye be to shine in the ether--

one of the Suns that light outer darkness--

one of the space-born grown into Light.

Just as the stars in time lose their brilliance,

light passing from them into the great Source,

The Mars Approach of 2003

Mars has been receiving plenty of press lately because of its close encounter with Earth on August 28, 2003. Conditions for viewing are perfect and observatories, astronomy clubs and even enterprising bars are sponsoring "viewing parties" that draw hundreds of people to peek through telescopes to check out the polar ice caps and red deserts of our neighboring planet. The close encounter is unprecedented in modern times with Earth being closer to Mars than it has been in an estimated 60,000 to 73,000 years.

The unusual placement is reflected astrologically as a Sun/Mars opposition and has resulted in a rather long retrograde period for Mars. Not mentioned in the news is the fact that Mars is also aligned with Uranus, a planet that cannot be seen with the naked eye but has a very strong astrological effect nonetheless. The presence of Uranus adds another order of magnitude in the "strangeness" department. Every month when the Moon comes by, we have a Moon/Mars/Uranus conjunction that is very disruptive but exciting and different. Mars and Uranus are conjunct every 26 months or so for about 10 days, and most often the Moon doesn't happen to arrive within the normal two-week window when Mars and Uranus are within orb of an effective conjunction.

This summer, however, the slow retrograde motion of both Mars and Uranus has resulted in the situation where we have four such conjunctions, in Pisces, on four successive months. It has been very interesting so far. On July 16, the tragedy at the Santa Monica public market occurred within two hours of exactitude of the conjunction. On August 13, the big blackout of the power grid in the northeast came within 18 hours of exactitude, with the Moon still in Pisces. The next Moon/Mars/Uranus conjunction is set for September 9-11 and should be the most powerful of the lot because of the closeness of the 3 orbs and their exact square to the eclipsed point of 1 degree Sagittarius. That eclipse occurs on November 23 and is the last total eclipse until 2006.

These external, mundane events are easy to track and it will certainly be interesting to see what the headlines will say during the September 9-11 time frame. Internal events are just as important, however, with the difference being that we can do something to influence how the energies of Mars and Uranus affect us and what we do with them in our daily lives. The external, after all, is simply a manifestation of what is felt internally.

Close to the Sun is the slower-moving planet, Jupiter. Jupiter moved into health-oriented Virgo on August 27, just one day before Mars was closest to the Earth. The Sun is our conscious awareness, so with the Jupiter/Mars opposition in Virgo/Pisces we have the classic psychosomatic funnel that channels spiritual stress into the physical distress of the body. It may be that some old afflictions or aches and pains have returned with a new intensity. This is a great time to get at the root of these problems and try to recall what past and forgotten events placed these imbalances into physical memory.

The human body is an extraordinarily complex and sensitive instrument. It is the vehicle of the soul, perfectly suited for maneuvering about this physical world, like a diving suit for deep-sea exploration. Mars rules the iron in our blood, tinting it red and providing us with the vigor and fire to move about in the physical world. With Mars retrograde and so close to the Earth at present, this energy seems to vacillate between surges of frustration and anger alternating with a sudden lethargy. Mars is in Pisces, after all, with its deep and fluctuating moods, just like the last days before spring.

When any planet is retrograde, its energy comes to us in a more reflective mode than when direct. This is a time of reorganizing, reevaluating, and maybe a grating revisiting of old hassles over our internal landscape. This is a good time to shed non-rewarding activities that take time and energy but provide no pleasure or reward. Are you doing too much? The universe is helping you to cut back.

In mundane affairs, Mars is assigned rulership of the sign Aries. For those on the spiritual path, however rulership moves to the sign Scorpio. This means that all those who realize that power and recognition to the personality is not the ultimate goal in life use their Mars to overcome the base desires of body and ego. This is a tough job. The phoenix which rises from its own ashes is the symbol for the Scorpio stage on the path of discipleship, when the ego is subdued and lower desires are killed, allowing the soul to rise to a position of power and recognition. Now is the time to "hang in there" and persist with spiritual practices, be they meditation, reading or whatever it is that gives you inner courage and motivation. This is a time of testing, but it is also a great opportunity to deal with bad habits and start some new, good ones.

For those far enough along the spiritual path to have teaching responsibilities, Mars assumes the rulership of the sign Sagittarius. It is not necessary to be a formally recognized "teacher" to be in this position. A parent "teaches" their child about life simply by performing daily tasks in a spiritual, thoughtful way. It is by our example that we teach others. The retrograde Mars time is sure to cause all of us to reconsider or revamp our techniques in presenting our spiritual insight to others. For some who practice formally it might be time to revise workshop procedures or materials. Maybe you can consider another distribution system, as you may find increased turnover among those who look up to you spiritually.

When the long-count of the Mayan calendar ends on December 22, 2012, our Sun and planet line up perfectly with the galactic center around which our personal star revolves. This is clearly the official beginning of the Age of Aquarius and the end of the Age of Pisces. This is the completion of a 25,920 year cycle and the beginning of another. Uranus is in Pisces right now and will advance into Aries in January, 2011. With Mars conjunct to Uranus, lollygagging so long in the sign of Pisces, this is clearly the "beginning of the end". Before we can advance to the next dimension and make our collective ascension, things have to be cleaned up where we are right now. This is the Pisces directive. This is why the sign is associated with karma pay-off and self sacrifice. This is a long cycle that we are completing and it is to be expected that there is a lot of karma to be reconciled. This is being played out in world events and environmental changes. The current Mars retrograde period is bringing the need to reconcile all personal and physical "dwellers on the threshold" into urgent prominence.

For every disaster, tragedy and act of terror in the mundane world there are unreported and unappreciated acts of kindness and moments of increased awareness all over the world. These are a result of positive thought and an unselfish attitude. This is the work of the Spiritual Hierarchy and incarnated light workers on our planet. You can be one of those. Use the increased energy of Mars to bring love, consideration and an increased vibration to a disturbed soul near you.

I am here.

Sensing at the crown,

the energy lifts your consciousness,

opening higher,

allow the spaciousness.

Trusting to enter the energy,

allow the words to surprise you.

Who knows?

Mystery.

Do not seek to control the moment.

Releasing even that which observes.

You will still be.

Trust as a child trusts,

no preconceived thoughts or expectations.

Be free in this moment.

Innocence of being.

Trust as the light trusts.

Remembering your journey,

the light going forth into the infinite heavens.

Allow yourself to be,

to smile in the face

of the grand mystery.

The mystery intimidates you,

there is fear of not being.

Be aware of your thoughts there,

how they impede the open, natural,

expression of your being.

There is energy and consciousness

which knows it is much

more than physical form.

Know yourself as a divine being,

with all your special god like qualities,

all your gifts from Source.

That essence radiates its beingness

into all of time,

into all the spaces where you dwell.

Envisioning that god essence

enhances your ability to experience yourself

as that divinity.

The whole universe is a miracle.

It is brilliant in hue and song,

in energies and vibration,

in thought and mind,

in love and life.

It is a miracle:

the unique focus that you have,

and the grandness and vastness of it all.

We appreciate reality.
