Here is another installment of photos from Roslyn. We were up for Labor Day weekend in honor of Maura's birthday. Most of these are from then. Saturday and Sunday were Coal Miner's Days. A tribute to those who lived and mined in Roslyn back in the 1920's. There was a small stage for music and entertainment, crafts fair and a twice around the block parade! Maura got to do some fishin' before we left. Her favorite part! More recently it is beginning to get chilly. Fall is here and winter is not to far behind. Locals tell us the first snow usually shows up on halloween. Poor kids. ;-)

We stayed the weekend at Harry's Inn above the Village Pizza. Fun rooms with full kitchens and the smell of pizza! |

This is the view out the window. It's like being at home on First Avenue in Seattle. |
| That's the Roslyn city hall in the old brick bank and the Brick tavern, Washington's oldest continously operating tavern. |

Looking out to the right is...Lefties! Great place for coffee and breakfast. They also have a small grocery of bulk goods and organics. |

The Rusty Relics car club drives these old rigs all around town. |
| I need to go look up who the Coal Queen and King were. |

Our old friend the Reverend Chumleigh was there to provide entertainment. I think this was praying to the telephone pole to keep the rope tight. |

Haa! He picked Maura to help him up and hand him the chicken. She short armed him in hte hand off and he about lost track of what he was doing. |

Kept the crowd entertained. |
| After the parade and excitement died down we took a walk around town. This is the haunted house on W. Idaho. |

This is the Coal Miners memorial in front of the Northwest Improvement Company store. Mining was hazardous. Each of those black squares has a miner's name. |
| There are many old (1900) buildings left in town. This is the railroad depot. They removed the rail tracks and turned the right of way into a 3 mile trail from Cle Elum through Roslyn to Ronald. |

This is the view from where we have been camping for a single night over. Nice place for sledding in the winter. |

That pipeline on the right is the Roslyn water supply. It comes from a drainage across the Cle Elum River. |
