Roslyn,
WA
Here are a few views
of the town. I'll have to add some more shots the next time we head
up. I also included some of the other homes in town. Most people
buying are looking for acreage and so are not interested in 'urban'
property. So the market is slow, though things are moving. Update:
almost everything in town is sold. There are a few ratty nasties
left, but that's all.

Village Pizza. This
place packs on the weekends. And good pizza too! Lefties is
a great deli, sprouts, sandwiches, ice cream and espresso.
There is a B&B above the Village and the Brick Tavern is
across the street.

We noticed a LOT of
classic cars in town. Seems like a destination site for club
cruises. There are also a lot of vintage vehicles in use in
town. That black Ford Model A in front of the house below is
all over town.

Maura likes the Cle
Elum River best. Time to dig out her fishing
pole...

Here is a map of town.
That's it. East, north and west are ridges covered in
forest. It is unlikely that there will be any expansion of
the city beyond the current boundaries. The entire City of
Roslyn was designated a National Landmark in 1978. Note that
all the east-west streets are named after states. Below are
a few of the other homes for sale inside Roslyn.

This one we looked at
and it was sold the next week. Built in 1925 and never seen
paint. 10 foot high ceilings on the main floor.

|
Property next door to
the previous. Outside our price range. Imagine
that!

|
This is on the east
side of town. Nicely finished inside, sale
pending.

This was for sale by
owner when we looked in June. Sold 2 weeks later. It's
located across the alley and two lots west of the one we are
interested in. Rumors are that it is haunted. Looks like an
old hotel. We went by Labor Day weekend and this house is
already 10 feet in the air getting a foundation
installed!

I liked this one best,
but it is not currently for sale.
|

|
Just saw this for sale
by owner last week. Worth a look if our first one falls
through. No real access to the back yard or space for a
garage though.
