Nirek's story:Nirek is the son of Nich, blue Aelyth's rider, and Cl'rek, brown Orrith's rider, of Benden Weyr. He was born in his parent's shared weyr in the eighth month, second year of the Tenth Pass. His father being the Thunderbolt wingsecond and his mother an assistant Weyrlingmaster, Nirek was often on his own during his early years, being cared for in the nursery and living some of the time in the lower caverns.To make up for the guilt he felt for the neglect of his son, Cl'rek brought Nirek down to the Southern Continent occasionally to visit his Uncle Kent and cousins. This became a tradition for the two, and has kept father and son relatively close all these turns. When Nirek was around six-and-a-half turns old, Cl'rek decided Nirek should be fostered somewhere where he could grow out of the shadow of his rider parents. Already he had shown a propensity for telling stories and a genuine interest in the stars. Choosing Joanna at Ista, Cl'rek sent his son there and Nirek spent nearly a turn there. While Joanna encouraged Nirek to be the overly-mature child he was becoming, Starcraft Master Kyriel fostered his interest in the stars. While at Ista, Nirek made good friends with a number of fosterlings.
A few months ago, Joanna moved to Igen Weyr to become an assistant
headwoman. While most of her other fosterlings followed, Cl'rek chose to
bring Nirek to the south to be fostered by Nirek's uncle Kent. At
present, Nirek is working odd jobs at the farmhold and getting in trouble
with Kent's (as of yet) unnamed other two children. He also has a new
younger sister, Carah, who still lives with his parents at Benden Weyr.
