Printed in Canada. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PAGE 1 PANEL 1 Japan...A man dressed in a green tunic with a yellow mantle and hood is seen crossing a bridge in the rain. The river currents are torrential. PANEL 2 A dark figure, with flowing purple locks is seen obstructing most of the panel. The figure on the bridge does not notice. PANEL 3 The dark figure is seen tossing an object towards the figure on the bridge, who has turned around by now. PANEL 4 KATHOOOM - A fiery explosion demolishes the rickety bridge across the river. The rain obscures much, The blast is seen continuing into PANEL 5 which shows the rushing waters of the river, and a hand reaching out of the water, and the water leads to PANEL 6 and shows a Blond figure gasping for air and being swept downstream. PANEL 7 The figure in white is seen on one side of the bridge, watching the stunned person. PANEL 8 Suddenly, we see the female no longer on the same side of the river. PANEL 9 The figure rushes off down a path, and we see a high-tech weapon slung on her back. PAGE 2 PANEL 1 Outside Gotham...A figure on a white horse appears, galloping down a clear path without trees around. He is making haste down the road. PANEL 2 The figure reins back the horse, as he sees three riders up ahead. PANEL 3 From a bird's eyeview, the three mounted riders charge towards the man on the white horse. PANEL 4 {Damn.} Half the face of the rider, recognizable as Lyle Norg, looks directly out of the panel. PANEL 5 Lyle reaches into a pouch and withdraws something and hides it in his hand. PANEL 6 The horsemen approach. The first one is headless, but has a wicked grin where the face should be. The second is a blue alien, and the third is a bearded human with brown hair. PANEL 7 The smile says, "State your destination and purpose." PANEL 8 "I'm here to witness the Public Execution of Xao Jin, that bastard!" replies Lyle. His face looks quite serious. The blue alien whispers, "He's not the one..." PANEL 9 Grinn smiles and says, "Right you are, at noon hangs that bastard. Ride not so fast...for a fugitive one might mistake you." The teeth is the focus. PAGE 3 PANEL 1 Nearby...A town square with a crowd is depicted. {Foolish boy. He knew that the penalty for using magic. Now another will die.} PANEL 2 More of the crowd is shown, with a platform with a guillotine being shown as well. {Damn Mordru. Damn Lord Universo. Where is his son to answer for the death of Nathane?} PANEL 3 EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE a scream fills the panel. The profile of a beautiful woman is seen. {No. The boy will not die today. Not if I can help it.} PANEL 4 A madman, bald and wearing a purple outfit, rushes onto the platform. The woman is seen walking towards a caravan with barred windows. PANEL 5 The madman starts yelling, "...Darkness...blood...Men of Doom..." and three guards rush onstage. PANEL 6 She sneaks a peek inside the caravan. PANEL 7 Inside is dark, with a guard on a stool trying to light a lantern that had just blown out. Another guard is trying to unlock Xao Jin's chains. Xao Jin is a chinese boy with bruises and cuts on him. PANEL 8 {here goes nothing} The woman loosens her tunic. PANEL 9 "That...that man," the woman blurted, "You...you have to stop him...please." One of the guards, the one on the stool, stepped forward to turn her out, and she collapsed limp into his arms. PAGE 4 PANEL 1 Above Winath...***THOOM**** An explosion rocks the interior of a spacecraft. PANEL 2 "Jo, we're going down!" A panicked blonde woman exclaims. It is An Ryd. She is pecking away at the navigations. PANEL 3 "Hold her steady!" exclaims a brown haired man. It is Jo Nah. A startled blond man stands behind him, trying to hold on to something. PANEL 4 "It's no use! We're going to crash!" says the blond man. "Bloody Grife! I knew we shouldn't have trusted Ray Sah! Mo, get a suit on, and help An!" says Jo. PANEL 5 The scene is from outside the spacecraft. It is plunging towards the blue-green planet. A satellite is in the corner of the field of view. PANEL 6 A white wing is glimpsed in space, as the spacecraft plunges. {The Green Dragon...} PANEL 7, 8, 9 These panels still show space, and a humanoid figure with very large wings covering all three panels. It is recognizably a woman with long black hair. PAGE 5 PANEL 1 Copenhagen...a blue-skinned man tries to lift a fallen, burning pillar off a black haired woman. It is Grev Mallor. PANEL 2 The woman is shown to be bleeding quite heavily. The fire and smoke begins to build. PANEL 3 Grev looks up at the roof {I best get Sal out of this deathtrap!} and sees it burning, and about to cave in. PANEL 4 The houses on these streets are burning. Two figures are rushing down the street, projecting cold and ice in an attempt to put out the fire. PANEL 5 They stop, and spy a burning figure standing far away, igniting the houses. PANEL 6 Brek Bannin says, "Ame, go down the side street and put out the fires. I am going to retrieve Sal and Grev." PANEL 7 The legs of the burning figure is seen. Orange-red. Down the street a figure in green garb is faintly visible. PANEL 8 Brek runs to the burning house. {Oh, no, the roof!} PANEL 9 The figure in green is revealed. He is putting out some of the fires using some sort of power. It is Condo Arlik. {No! Lord McCauley's men! They better not get to Mimosa and her charges. PAGE 6 PANELS 1-9 A man in japanese garb is shown, with the grids dividing the single picture. He is meditating, sitting atop a cliff in the light drizzle. Behind him is a white figure with purple hair, holding an explosive device, smiling. There is a waterfall next to them. Val Armorr does not seem to have noticed the presence of Monica Sade. KNIGHTS OF THE THIRTY - ISSUE 1, PART 2 THE KNIGHTS OF THE THIRTY Issue 1 continued PAGE 7 PANEL 1 A wet figure drags himself out of the river. PANEL 2 His face fills the panel. {Damn! She caught me by surprise. No. I must not let her get to Armorr before I do.} It is the face of Hart Druiter. PANEL 3 Druiter runs down the path. PANEL 4 Meanwhile...{Didn't even hear her} Val Armorr turns around. Monica Sade says, "Greetings, Armorr-san, from Lord Sadahuru. Sorry, but a job's a job." PANEL 5 *FWOOSH* A grenade is thrown towards Val. PANEL 6 With a swift motion, Val deflects the grenade into the river. PANEL 7 *THOOM* The waterfall is shown with an explosion of water. PANEL 8 Val launches into a forward roll, dodging *ZOFF* blasts. PANEL 9 A swift knife hand disarms Sade. The weapon in her hand flies off. PAGE 8 PANEL 1 Val delivers a swift kick towards Sade's head. {Now to incapacitate her...} PANEL 2 Suddenly, Val's foot catches empty air. {Huh?} {Where did she...? Damn, she must be a teleporter!} PANEL 3 Sade appears next to the fallen weapon and grabs it. "A Challenge!" PANEL 4 *ZOFF* blasts fill the air, narrowly missing Val Armorr. {She's teleported again...behind and to the left...} PANEL 5 Val is seen with his foot speeding towards Sade... PANEL 6 The weapon is knocked out of Sade's hands! Val catches the weapon in his left hand. *THUNK* PANEL 7 Sade's unconscious face is shown in this panel. {Perhaps this assassin could reveal essential information about Sadahuru.} PANEL 8 Val stands looking at the sun just appearing behind the rainclouds, and sees a rainbow. {Maybe she could turn me in and collect the bounty on my head. Interesting.} PANEL 9 Val resumes his meditative pose. {Now, back to my meditations...} PAGE 9: PANEL 1: Gotham Square...Lyle Norg dismounts. {Made it... Now to rescue Jin.} PANEL 2: Struggle on the guillotine platform. {Everyone's distracted. Good.} PANEL 3: A madman on the platform, in purple, yells, "skinned...profit...coming" PANEL 4: Lyle is seen half fading into invisibility. PANEL 5: Caravan is shown. {Strange..I thought I saw someone entering...} PANEL 6: Window of caravan - barred. Through it is seen some figures. PANEL 7: Annie Foxmoor is visible. *THUD* PANEL 8: Guard is shown clutching his crotch. Annie thinks {I'm glad I don't have those...gee, neither does he now, I guess.} PANEL 9: *CRASH* A feminine hand breaks a convenient waterjug over the head of the other guard, in front of a grateful Xao Jin. PAGE 10: PANEL 1: Focus is on the floor of a caravan , near the door. The door is closing. Footprints are outlined vaguely in the dust on the floor. {Nass! She took out these guards? I hope she's here to rescue Jin...} PANEL 2: Vague outline of a man, through which the 2 guards of the prisoner are seen unconscious on the floor. {...because I'm going to have to take my chances...} PANEL 3: Picture is of the back of Norg's head and the face and upper body of Foxmoor. Norg has a brown headband around his neck and Foxmoor's tunic front is loosened. Annie Foxmoor says "Wait. Who are you and how did you get in here?" Lyle Norg says "I snuck in. My name is Lyle Norg, and I'm in the underground, working for Vidar. PANEL 4: Focus this time is on the back of Foxmoor, and you can see her short red hair. Lyle Norg's upper body is in view, and he is carrying a bag around his shoulder. Lyle Norg says "Look, it seems to me we're both here to free Jin here." Annie Foxmoor says "right, okay. I guess I have to trust you. Help me get this guard's tunic off and onto Jin." PANEL 5: Focus is on Xao Jin, his bruises in plain view. He is now wearing the guard's tunic and seems a little groggy, as if he was drugged. You hear the words of Lyle and Annie. Lyle Norg says "You remind me of someone Jacques once told me about, Nathane Foxmoor. Any relation?" Annie Foxmoor says "Yes, my late brother. My name is Annie." Lyle Norg says "How'd you get past these guys?" PANEL 6: Again, focus is on Xao Jin. Annie Foxmoor says "That's my problem, kid. Don't worry, Jin, Vidar will take care of you." Lyle Norg says "You know of Vidar?" Annie Foxmoor says "Only in passing. He owes me for what happened to Nathane..." {"owes"?} PANEL 7: The focus shifts to a picture of Norg, Foxmoor and Xao Jin. Foxmoor is supporting Jin on her shoulders. Lyle Norg says "Well we have no time for this, we have to get away from here." Annie Foxmoor says "okay. Let's try to sneak out in this confusion. Can you make a bit of a diversion?" PANEL 8: Focus is on the profile of Lyle Norg as he looks out the window. Lyle Norg says "sure, I'm sure I can find a good trick in this bag. Incendiary, that'll do. Where should we meet?" Annie Foxmoor says "um, There's this place north of town. Arkham district. Meet me there, and then we'll head to see Vidar..." PANEL 9: Focus is on the full figure of Norg, in the process of turning invisible, his upper body a little more transparent than the lower half. His hand is on the doorknob and the door is cracked open. Lyle Norg says "by the woods? okay. Good luck, um... Annie." Annie Foxmoor says "fine. Don't let me down, kid, or I'll find you..." PAGE 11: PANEL 1: A flaming figure of a man is outlined in the panel, and chaos is apparent in the background. "FFFFWOOOOOOSSSHH!!!" {Did you see that?} {Burst into flames!} {Grife!} PANEL 2: Focus is on the figure of Foxmoor, carrying Xao Jin on her shoulder. In the background flames are visible. {Made it, thank my luck! Did Norg...?} PANEL 3: A horse is in view, and upon its back is the figure of Norg, fading into view. The profile of Foxmoor's face is in the foreground. Annie Foxmoor says "Glad to see ya, luv. How'd your end go? Any problems? Lyle Norg says "no problem, those Durjes won't know what hit 'em. Strange how those guards just burst into flame." PANEL 4: Focus is on both Norg and Foxmoor, Norg is now visible, and off the horse. Lyle Norg says "How did you get away?" Annie Foxmoor says "Hey, I'm a lucky girl." Lyle Norg says "I guess so." PANEL 5: Focus is again on Norg and Foxmoor, their positions have varied slightly. Lyle Norg says "do you have transportation?" Annie Foxmoor says "I have feet..." Lyle Norg says "take the horse, the ride is not far." Annie Foxmoor says "Alright. What about you?" Lyle Norg says "... I'll go on foot. Lyle Norg says "don't worry about me, I'll find a way back." PANEL 6: Focus is on Annie Foxmoor and she mounts the horse. Lyle Norg is lifting Xao Jin onto the horse. Lyle Norg says "Wait, I need to have you connect up with Vidar, we better all go on the horse" Annie Foxmoor says "It won't take the weight." PANEL 7: Focus is on Lyle Norg's face. Lyle Norg says "perhaps we can find another horse, then." Lyle Norg says "Jin? Jin, are you awake?" Xao Jin says "...yes... thank you for rescuing me" PANEL 8: Focus is on both Foxmoor and Norg. Annie Foxmoor says "Just take the kid and go. I'll head back to town. Don't think they got a good look at me, so I should be safe." Lyle Norg says "shall I come back for you?" Annie Foxmoor says "You bet you should. Or Vidar himself. I need to talk to that fellow!" PANEL 9: In foreground, the figure of Foxmoor as she heads toward town. In the background Norg rides off into the darkness of the woods...
