94-96 B-Body's

You either hate them or love 'em. I remember at one point hating them, until I had the chance to spend time in one. It didn't hurt being in the Public Safety industry either. The first I had was a 95 Classic with the TAXI package. It DID have the G80 positraction option and the (only motor to have) 5.7LT1 V-8. It also had the sport suspension which made sport driving sportier (can you say sport?). Anyhow they stopped making the B-body which is known as the Caprice or Impala SS or the Police Edition (9C1) in 1996. This was in my opinion one of the finest rear while drive, full size (as in 4 regular size adults) V8powered sports sedans made in America. To many's surprise you could even achieve descent gas mileage lugging around 4200lbs.

Bottom line is they would scoot, carry four to five people comfortably, corner well and act civilized and quiet on highways. What else can you ask for? The Impala SS. I don't know who's idea it was at GM , but adding 17" wheels and adding monochromatic trim really made the base Caprice shine.

Unfortunately I sold my SS in lieu of more seating room and towing capacity...a 2001 Suburban....uggggggghhh...but it has a big block!

The links above are about my current 9C1 and the SS I used to own as well, plenty of links and information!!!!
