66 Chevelle SS 427

I grew up living down the street from a guy that had a 67 Chevelle. It was primered with rally wheels and dual exhaust. not much when you think about it in today's standards, but when your 16 it's a different story. Ever since then I have had an interest in owning one but something sort of over the top. I didn't want a 40k show car but something I could play with, drive and have fun in. And so I found one and here it is.

I have not run the car down 1/4 mile...been too busy with other projects. I run 114 Octane in it and have it timed at 38BTDC. I get my fuel from the great folks at Speedware MotorSports in Redmond. Since I bought it I have changed the tires, put new exhaust on it and installed a larger fuel cell with sending unit. The original 8 gallon cell didn't get you very far. Listen to a clip of it running.

Looking dirty, I decided to clean and paint my 1150. I used high-heat paint and metal prep. I disassembled the carb completely...painted the bowls and the main block. It turned out well and you can see on the engine page.
