2001 Chevy Suburban 2500

Under Construction

This is my 2001 Suburban that I purchased brand new in early 2000. My reason for purchase was hauling more people and towing. In fact I knew they were coming out with the new 8.1/496 big block and really liked the idea of a Suburban with big block power. They didn't have many 8.1's at the time but I found this one in pewter. I towed my Chevelle back from Montana with it and it really did great. The only issues I have had with it are no heat in the back, piston slap at start up, and oil consumption. Unfortunately GM isn't willing to do anything about the piston slap or oil consumption, however I did get my rear heat fixed.

I have also added dual exhaust. It was done by Trail Wagon's out of Yakima. They used Dynomax Turbo mufflers with slant cut tips out the back (check my clips page for a sound file). I really enjoy the sound and level for this truck.  I would like to add projector headlamps and new wheels and tires. Sometime in the future. I did add a billet grill, which I installed myself...as well as painting the rear pillar caps to match the body color.
