There is a land off Asia's coast
That's called the Rising Sun
It's been the ruin of many a poor fan
And Lord, I know I'm one

For manga and for anime
My cash is mostly spent
I need a place to keep it all
That's why I pay my rent

My daddy was a manga fan
A connoisseur of art
I swiped his stash and ran away
That's how I got my start

My momma she wrote fanfics
To post upon the Net
The best won honors, and the worst
I wish I could forget

Now, the most a real otaku needs
Is more than I can say
But at least some shelves and a TV screen
With a readable display

I'm going back to printed words
I've redefined my fun
I'll spend no more on media
From the Land of the Rising Sun
