Blue Balls, or The Hedgehog Reimagined

to the tune of The Hedgehog Song

While shopping at `our super`market one day
I noticed a couple of blue spiky balls.
"With these in your dryer," the label did say,
"Your laundry will never be clingy at all."
Rolling all over and bouncing around,
"Your laundry will never be clingy at all."

        dryer balls

The sheets and the bedspread were always a trial,
They'd roll themselves up in a tight little ball,
And the inside was sopping -- but now I just smile
'Cause they're dry and they never get clingy at all.
Rolling all over and bouncing around,
They're dry and they never get clingy at all.

There's no greasy feel and no smell on my hand,
They're a one-time expense, and at that pretty small.
They don't keep polluting the water or land
And my laundry is soft and not clingy at all.
Rolling all over and bouncing around,
My laundry is soft and not clingy at all.

They go in with whatever I'm trying to dry:
With clothing for summer, spring, winter, or fall.
They go with the cat, but please don't ask me why,
And none of it ever gets clingy at all!
Rolling all over and bouncing around,
None of it ever gets clingy at all.
