ttto "Ferryman", Leslie Fish
A squeezebox hammered and bent down the reeds
till they moaned and they wailed out the tune.
It plunged to the depths of the ocean's abyss
and soared to the height of the moon.
So free ran the harmony, heady and wild,
it veered into every known key.
A fool could have told of the warning it gave:
"You'd better not try to sing me!"
Berrymans, Berrymans, won't you be kind?
My friends are expecting a song out of me.
Berrymans, won't you write one I can sing,
And I'll try not to sing out of key.
