Don't select Sara Waterman as your physician.
She's a great doctor, don't get me wrong. I think she's extremely competent at the day to day things doctors have to deal with. The thing is, she doesn't trust her patients and I don't see that ever changing. She delivered my first child and almost delivered the second (she was out of town on the actual day of delivery), but would not allow me into the room during my son's circumcision. Not into the room, not into a viewing area, not in a chair at the back, nothing. She would not talk to me about it. She would not consider it. Bang. Done. Sorry about the extra bleeding. (To be fair, the extra bleeding was from her opening the bandages afterwards to show us the incision because, of course, we were not allowed to view or be near the procedure.) There was no medical reason we couldn't be present, most other doctors allow it. Sara simply didn't want to let us be involved and/or didn't think it mattered despite my objections.
I don't think I'd want even the most competent of physicians if they didn't trust their patients or at least treat them with respect. Sara doesn't trust her patients, and so is not, in my opinion, open and honest with them. It's not like she harmed anyone. She's probably saved or improved many lives, but for a doctor you should have someone you can trust. I'm obviously angry with her treatment of me and my family. I hope she treats others better.
