In the Sierra Madre of Oaxaca, a gozona is a four-day combination serenade and battle of the bands. As our friend Inocencio Mena says, 'You play until your teeth are loose and then rest for a week.'
We are La Banda Gozona, a group of Seattle musicians who play the traditional music of Oaxaca, Mexico. Through this music we enable cultural exchange and provoke dancing.
