An Appropriate Friday Five!

This is the first time I've pulled an all-nighter at work since the last Amazon Christmastime sleepover! Speaking of sleep...

1. What time do you wake up on weekday mornings?
My alarm goes off about 7:15am. I stop hitting 'snooze' and crawl out of bed somewhere between 7:40 and 8:00.

2. Do you sleep in on the weekends? How late?
Depending on whether or not I stay up past dawn, I usually sleep until about 10.

3. Aside from waking up, what is the first thing you do in the morning?
Take a shower. [rowr!] Sorry -- pet the cat, of course.

4. How long does it take to get ready for your day?
Typically from 1.5 to 2 hours. Though I have been known to shower, dress, and get from Brooklyn to midtown within an hour, so I can be speedy when I have to.

5. When possible, what is your favorite place to go for breakfast?
Brunch at the Chip Shop. Duh.

I am going home now...

The grant is not done. It is closer, but still very, very far away from finished. I have approximately 19 hours to finish it all up, make it look pretty, and deliver it.

ARRRGH!

Have you seen me?

No, you haven't. Because I'm writing a grant. You won't see me until it's done. Arrrgh.

Love,
Ginger

[Meanwhile]
Go wish uncle Wil a Happy Birthday
and Mike and Jean-Michele a Happy Anniversary
and Matthew a Welcome Home
and send your Paul Simon analyses to prohibit
and find out what movies you should (and shouldn't) watch from John
and learn how to pick up chicks from (another) Matthew
and learn about test-tube babies from Jinx

what am I doing wasting precious writing time?? -- arrrrgh!

Current Non-Event

I have been purposely avoiding comment on pretty much all political issues lately, and now I know why. Matthew says it all far better than I could:

It has long been known that the Saddam / Niger / yellowcake allegations were all but groundless, but it's only now that the story is getting traction that the Democrats are loudly declaring themselves shocked -- shocked! -- to learn that the statement was deceptive.

Read the rest, really. It's great.
