The Easy To Translate French Review
Two French websites recently posted reviews of Heights. Here's my shot at translating the one that looked more like high school French. For the benefit of those of you who like awkward foreign-sounding English, I haven't worked too hard to smooth it out. I've sent the other one on to Amy whose French is a whole heck of a lot better than mine. She offered to help. Here's my translation:

On their second album, At Dusk again find their way between the indie rock/classic indie pop format and more adventurous styles eager for experimentation and instrumentation.
This doubt in the artistic direction of the album makes it a frustrating listen. One senses a potential which doesn't reach explosion. Nevertheless, with each new listen, one can appreciate the spirit that's emmitted from the songs and one can make a comparison between At Dusk and a pop version of Mission of Burma.

Hey At Dusk et al,
Wonderful to be listening to songs from Heights and then reading these glowing reviews. You guys have really done an amazing job, and although I know you're just recovering from your whirlwind tour, I can't wait to see you up in Seattle whenever you get to play here next. All those years of keeping the band alive from coast to coast, mailing tapes, making the decision to be together in PDX, and the hard work you've put in is evident. You shine. Gotta say, I'm proud of you all.

Man, you guys should totally work on reaching explosion next time. That was exactly what the album was lacking.
