Tell Your Story

The Web can be a wonderful place to share stories.  Because it is so vast, the storyteller can have a public voice but maintain privacy.   For women, particularly, the Web offers a way to connect with others and share experiences, especially for those whose voices are seldom heard and even more rarely honored.

There are local resources for homeless and low-income writers, such as StreetWrites.   Real Change and WHEEL have published women writers and poets.  Websites such as the Foundation for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and the Feminist Women's Health Clinic feature women telling their stories.

So is there any need for another place to share stories?

We will see.  If you have a story you would like to tell, please send it via e-mail to femme2@speakeasy.org, or deliver a typed copy to the Reverend Pat Simpson at Mary's Place, First United Methodist Church in downtown Seattle.

Anything you submit is absolutely confidential.
