Sedona

Sedona

Music & Lyrics: Gary J. Ehrlich c 5/00

Inspired by three trips West in 1998: to San Francisco in May, to Arizona in September, and to Seattle in November. A side trip to Sedona during the Arizona trip inspired this song. It's dedicated to all my family and friends on the Left Coast.

              D G D
CHO: From the Red Rocks of Sedona to the streets of San Francisco
         D G A
The spirit of the pioneer, the brightest and the best
              D G D
From the snowy slopes of Rainier to the California redwoods
              G A D
It's the power and the glory of the West

D G A
Driving down a desert highway, red rock towers passing by
D G A
Feel the veins of energy that course beneath a cloudless sky
Bm G A
Golden sun illuminates the valley of the wild and free
Bm G A
The splendor of her boulevards, her styles and creativity

Early rain, a misty curtain pulling back across the sound
Tales and legends cast their magic over the majestic ground
From the depths of life you can be lifted by a helping hand
To see a new dimension spreading out across the rolling land

Standing on a porch at morning, song rings through the mountain air
Sunrise burns off fog to light a cabin built with love and care
Climbing up the twisting roads how challenging the path may seem
Faith and hope will lead you on to reach the summit of your dreams
