Coppertone

Coppertone

When I lie out beneath a sun that's shining bright and warm
I know its ultraviolet rays and heat can cause me harm
The hours I spend upon the beach can leave their scars behind
But something can prevent those burns, a product I can buy

CHO: I can use a tanning lotion with smooth and oily feel
Protects me when I'm sunning so I will not burn or peel

Now some may take vacations on the shores where sun beats hot
And often they do turn bright red and start to itch a lot
And now they just sit watching; from the searing heat they hide
For the fear of melanoma's curse has driven them inside

CHORUS

This lotion spread out on the skin permits my beach-side fun
In spite of humid summer heat and blazing white-hot sun
I know I'll be protected if the SPF is right
It tells me I won't peel beneath the burning solar light

CHORUS

Now all you guys who hide your chests because you have been warned
And all you gals in skimpy suits with tan lines not quite formed
You do not have to live with pale skin the shade of bone
Just use some tanning lotion, use a dab of Coppertone
