Moon Hawk-Watches

Moon Hawk-Watches was "born" in late summer of 1980 in Southeastern Colorado. While hitchhiking to New Mexico, during a late-summer heatwave, I found myself stranded, rideless and shadeless for over 24 hours at a nowhere spot in the road. Mid-morning of the 2nd day, a Red-Tailed Hawk flew over and settled not 20 meters away atop a telephone pole and sat, for several minutes, apparently watching me. He then flew off, only to circle me deosil several times before landing on the ground about halfway between me and the afore-mentioned pole, where he again appeared to watch me. This pattern was repeated several times: circle, land, watch, circle, land, watch,... Finally, after more than an hour, the Red-tail circled me one final time and flew off.
In 1997, I co-authored a Beltane ritual at the request of a High Priestess. In the process of creating the ritual, I recalled the experience (for the first time in many years) and recounted it to my colleague. After some discussion, we agreed that I should add the sobriquet "Hawk-Watches" to my clan name.
The name Darkmoon of Ragnarok, is actually a nym, used both in cyberspace and also in SciFic fandom (as well as -- rarely -- the Society for Creative Anachronism.) My "mundane" identity is (since 9Dec97) E(dward)A(nthony) Aldridge, but my friends -- or at least, the ones who are willing to confess to being my friends -- call me Moon.
Background
Born in New York City and raised mostly in Washington DC, I arrived in the Puget Sound region on Oct 15, 1976, after 7 years traveling around the US and living in Los Angeles, Tucson, St Louis, Boulder, Santa Fe, New Orleans, Albuquerque and Kansas City.
I have at various times been an actor, bartender, bodyguard, bouncer, carnie, collections specialist, courier, driver, farmer, minstrel/musician, mystic (both Tarot Reader and Astrologer), photographer and freelance political educator/agitator, as well as holding down a frightening array of more mundane occupations for periods ranging from a week to nine months.
Described by some as a "Caffeine-based, solar-powered, nocturnal life-form" (among the more printable descriptions), I am a 54-year-old Gemini {born June 9, 1949} with Scorpio Ascendant. [Natal Chart.]

Interests
I am a life-long Science Fiction fan (as in "fanatic"), having been infected at age 8. I read incessently, watch (and record!) several TV programs "religiously" and catch motion pictures whenever finances permit.
Of course, I DO read outside of SciFic. My library currently contains over 1000 volumes, unevenly divided between fiction and non-fiction; this includes a small but growing collection of textbooks and reference books. My video library is in process of being reconstructed.
For most of my life, I have been a performing musician: first on keyboards, then clarinet, progressing to vocals and guitar, then (for most of the past 20 years) percussion;
When not otherwise occupied (and not performing myself) I love to listen; I love all sorts of music: Jazz, Blues, Rock, R&B, even (some) Country; and, of course, I have a long list of favorite Musicians!
And when I get the opportunity, I love making things; especially out of leather and wood. Of course, that's when I am able to keep myself out of the woods, or out of my van (I love to drive!)

Finally, I am engaged in an on-going theological examination, an analysis, if you will, of My Gods, of the Universe which is begotten by them, and of the relationship which exists between myself and that Creation. While this examination is of some moment in my own life, it may (or not) be of interest to others. Decide for yourself.
