The Eagles of Troop 275
| Michael Buckley, 1989. Mike was a charter member of Troop 275. He came to our troop from Troop 175, having already attained the rank of Life. He joined Troop 275 in September of 1988, the charter date for the Troop. Michael was the first of Eagles, and was a valuable asset to the troop though it's formative years. Michael was a great student in high school, and won a four year ROTC scholarship to Tulane. | |
| Christopher Buckley, 1991. Like his brother, Christopher came to us from Troop 175, and was a charter member of our troop. Chris made Star in October 1988, and 8 months later he was a Life Scout. He completed the requirements for Eagle in October 1991. Cut from a different cloth than Michael, Christopher joined the Army shortly after graduating from high school, and served a tour in Korea. | |
| Matthew Buckley, 1994. Matthew became the third Eagle Scout in his family, and the third Eagle in Troop 275. Matthew came to us in April 1989. Matthew had a rocky start with our troop, but settled down and became a great scout. Matthew graduated from high school in 1996. It is rare enough to have an Eagle Scout in the family, but Jim and Barabara Buckley produced three Eagles, and they are justly proud. | |
| Zachary Caffall,
1995. Like Matthew, Zac started his scouting career in Troop
275, in April, 1989. Zac took his time but managed to slide in just under
the wire, just prior to his 18th birthday. Zac followed many
interests including club-level soccer, from the time he was 11 years old.
He has played goalie on the South Metro Lightning team, as well as for
both the JV and Varsity McIntosh Soccer teams. Zac graduated McIntosh High
School, and entered Berry College in 1996.

Derek DeGroot, 1998.
Hi! My name is Derek DeGroot and I'm a freshman at Starr's Mill High School. Around seven months ago something really awesome happened to me - I received the rank of Eagle Scout. As I completed my Court of Honor, I felt overjoyed at obtaining the badge, and I also felt relieved that is was finally accomplished. Within two months, two others from Troop 275 also pledged their honor to be an Eagle Scout. They are Mike Ewing, and Aaron Reddy. Last year while atteding Rising Star Middle School, I played on the school basketball team. We had a great year, going 7 and 5 for the season. Also, we finished third in the league tournament. This year in high school I'm going to try out for the basketball and baseball teams. Also, I'm in the Starr's Mill High School Marching Band. In my spare time, I enjoy playing bass guitar, hanging out with my friends, swimming, running, pick-up basketball games, and scouting. |
