The Park Service rebuilt the retaining walls on Highway 410 between Cayuse Pass and Chinook Pass in the summer of 1999. During 2000 they put a stone covering over the concrete. Paving occured in 2001. Constant review is necessary to keep the US Federal Highways from turning a mountain road into a super highway.

We need someone to read the concession contract and follow activities, someone to study progress on the General Management Plan, and someone with Earth Sciences training to follow the research on mud flows and their risks. Contact me by E-Mail below.
