About The Great Ash Kindred

The Great Ash (in the context of Asatru) is Yggdrasil, the World Tree that runs through and connects the worlds. Just as Yggdrasil connects Midgard, Muspellheim and Niflheim, The Great Ash Kindred hopes to connect the Heathens of Central Ohio.

Anyone who feels called to worship the Aesir and Vanir is welcome in The Great Ash Kindred, regardless of gender, race, ethnic origins or sexual orientation. Those who do discriminate on those grounds are not welcome.

While Asatru is based on the beliefs and traditions of our ancestors, we realize that Asatru must become a modern, living religion. We learn from the wisdom of our ancestors, and from the Aesir and the Vanir, and strive to live our religion from day-to-day.

We try to have a ritual called a blot several times a year based on the traditional holy days of Germanic heathenism . We're open to the possibility of holding sumbels or study sessions, as interest develops. The Kindred has a Yahoo! group to enable ongoing discussion of Asatru issues.

The Great Ash Kindred asks that all prospective members be over the age of 18, or join with their parent(s) or guardian(s).
