Spring Into Action: A Day for Writers and Illustrators

Speaking on the Craft of Writing Nonfiction

Finding Drama in Real Life
Non-fiction writing has the potential to pull our emotions. We all want to know how to get through life. We want to know how other people and other species do it. and we want to answer mysteries. How was the world made? How do animals get through winter? We do not need to make up stuff for it to be exciting. It is exciting. But can you find the drama with all the research? That's the tricky part. Can you keep the story completely accurate and yet still have a story. When you succeed you'll have people cheering.
