Here we go down the home stretch! The Seattle Parks Department crews have been going gangbusters on the neighborhood's new 'backyard.' Pouring cement for ADA pathways and recreating portions of the foundations for the 3 Cottages demolished in 1968. Peggy Gaynor, our landscape architect, has been keeping an eye on them and helping our volunteer weekend crews stay organized. The Clampers were out lending a hand last weekend as volunteers moved 3 dump trucks of sand and soil. Three new garden plots were created for the P-Patch! New plants are on site ready for planting. Ne

Please help: The Cottage Park Renovation can use volunteers, donations of furniture and Cottage furnishings, cash to complete the interior of the Community Cottage. If you are interested in booking the Comunity Cottage for a small gathering contact Myke or Glenn. See Hugo House Literatary site for information on applying for the Writers-in-Residency program.

Sidewalk chalk rules!

Planning,... and adjusting. The Cottage crew finished 3 new P-Patch garden plots along the new pathway. Eager gardeners arrived that evening with plants!

It has been busy next door at the Belltown P-Patch too. Volunter mosic crew of Wilbur and Sandi have been completing the last 2 murals along Elliott Avenue.

The Huckleberry hides under the white roses.

It has been a great Spring for green things. The roses grow through an iron fence of underground vegetables.

Pathway to the Community Cottage. With additional funding we will add a new doorway through this wall with a ramp for ADA access. The farm pump lifts water from the roof water cistern underneath.

The new pathway behind the Cottage will be used as the future performance stage.

Kitchens kept the original cabinets. The red concrete counters were added in the 1940's.

Next weekend we got two trucks of soil and another load of sand. We started filling the plaza and around the Cottages.

Members of E Clampus Vitas, Doc Maynard Outpost No. 54-50, came by to help move all that dirt around.

Work parties of volunteers were enjoying the sun at the Cottages and P-Patch Saturday.
