Renovation of the Belltown Cottages

December 2002

The work continues. And the rains begin. The concrete foundations are poured and the 2 Cottages get set back down onto new foundations. The third gets bolted down on is basement for earthquakes.
The Cottages and a christmas tree are decked out with lights to brighten the night for commuters headed south on Elliott Avenue and let Belltown's know the Cottages are coming back!
The rafters are replaced with new straight trusses. New beadboard goes on under the rafter ends to form the eaves. The new wood looks wonderful. The interiors have been all cleaned and swept.
No more blue tarps!!! The cut cedar shingle roofs are all on by years end. Now the Cottages are begining to look more like they did 86 years ago!
