- What is it?
The bonded T1 product is a 3Mb/3Mb bonded T1 consisting of two 1.5Mb T1 circuits that behave as one circuit. - How does it work?
Speakeasy bonded T1s use inverse multiplexing to utilize the full capacity of the 3Mb bonded circuit. Inverse multiplexing (IMUX) divides traffic from a single bit stream among multiple circuits. This means that traffic from a single source is distributed across the individual circuits to make use of the 3Mb of bandwidth. - How much does it cost?
You simply pay the monthly charge for number of T1s you want to bond; there are no additional service fees. - What hardware is required?
The Cisco 1841 is the CPE Speakeasy requires for bonding T1s. More information, including product data sheets, can be found at: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps5875/. - What T1s can be bonded?
T1 circuits must be 1.5Mb Speakeasy T1 circuits on the same POP and at the same customer location. - What is the installation process?
The individual T1 circuits will be professionally installed by Covad technicians within 30 days of order placement. Your Dedicated Business Account Manager (DBM) will contact you to set up a time to walk through the bonding process, including plugging the T1 circuits into the Cisco hardware. Your DBM will initiate bonding the circuits and make sure you have use of your full 3Mb connection. - Can I keep my IPs?
If you have an existing Speakeasy T1 circuit, we can transfer the IPs from your existing circuit to the bonded circuit. - If I already have a Cisco CPE, can I use it in place of the Cisco 1841?
If you already own a Cisco CPE and would like to use it for bonding, please work with your Sales Representative or Dedicated Business Account Manager to determine if it is compatible with Speakeasy Bonded T1s.
- The Cisco CPE must be MLPPP compatible
- The minimum memory suggestion is 128MB of SDRAM and 32MB of Flash
- The CPU must fast enough to pass traffic at 3MB/3MB
